Inspection Plates, also known as Cast Iron Surface Plates, serve as the cornerstone of quality control and precision measurement in mechanical manufacturing. They provide a stable, accurate reference plane for a wide range of inspection, layout, and measurement tasks.
Core Applications
Inspection plates are versatile and critical across numerous sectors, including:
- Precision Measurement Reference:
Serving as the fundamental baseline for various inspection tasks.
- Machine Tool Verification:
Acting as a datum for checking the accuracy and geometry of machine tools.

用于验证零件尺寸、形状和位置公差,以及进行精确标记。
```
Their exceptional stability and accuracy make them indispensable in industries from aerospace, automotive, and scientific research to machinery, electronics, and medical devices.
Quality Standards for Qualified Inspection Plates
A qualified inspection plate must adhere to stringent standards to ensure measurement reliability and long-term service life.
1. Surface & Casting Integrity
Must be free from rust, scratches, bumps, and any other visual defects that could affect performance.
The work surface shall be free from casting defects such as blowholes, porosity, cracks, slag inclusions, and shrinkage. All cast surfaces must be smooth, free of molding sand, with firm paint coating and blunted edges.
2. Diseño Estructural
Threaded or cylindrical holes for installing lifting handles or rings must be present on opposite sides. The lifting point design should minimize potential distortion during handling.
3. 材料与工艺
Manufactured from high-quality, fine-grained gray cast iron or alloy cast iron.
Work surface hardness must be between 170-220 HB.
The work surface must be scraped. For Grade "3" plates, planing is acceptable, provided the surface roughness (Arithmetic Average Deviation, Ra) does not exceed 5μm.
Plates must undergo stabilization treatment (e.g., artificial aging) and be demagnetized to relieve internal stresses and guarantee long-term precision stability.
